Greetings and Happy New year from Lightning In A Bottle Records! We are gearing up for the new year and we have exciting news and events to share with you.
The Blues Foundation’s “International Blues Challenge” runs from Jan 7 to 11 in Memphis TN drawing blues artists from every blues society in the world and LIABR will be there to represent. LIABR owner and founder, Timmer Blakely, and A&R rep and LIABr artist Chad Rupp, have both been asked to judge the competition. LIABr artist Kyle Rowland, from Rowland and Tumbling, will be competing in the band category this year representing the Sacramento Blues Society. In addition, we will be networking and scouting new talent for the label.
Last year, we found Big Bay Allen from Pennylvania as he competed in the solo/duo act against TJ Wong. Big Bay just released his CD "Love One Another" on the LIABR label. You can find all of his music on all streaming services and social media.
Pat Pepin was also added to the label roster from last years IBC trip and put her horn prints all over Chad Rupp and the Sugar Roots highly acclaimed ‘24 LIABr release “Gate C23”.
In the fall, LIABr signed the Bennett Matteo Band featuring Jade Bennett-Matteo and Gino Matteo. Expect new music from them in ‘25 and you can catch their show on January 18, at Double Mountain Brewing in Hood River or January 31 at A Beer At A Time.
Our final acquisition of the year was 19 year old Jaxson Decker and his band “Low Maintenance” in December. Jaxson is currently attending school in Eugene and you can expect his debut release later this year.
LIABR Artist GeminiiDragon and her life partner/music partner Christian Simeon have a collaborative project called The GOLD DINAR and a debut EP entitled The Future Decline Of A Digital World being released this month on January 31st.
Finally, congratulations to Chad Rupp and the Sugar Roots on their international success with the release of Gate C23. The CD has made impressive numbers on the various blues charts world wide hitting number 1 on the Roots Music Report in the Blues Rock album category.
We wish you all a prosperous 2025 and thank you for supporting Lightning In A Bottle Records and live music!
