21 year old TJ Wong will be releasing his first blues album, “Kingdom Come”, on Lightning In A Bottle records 7/1/23. The release coincides with the Portland OR Waterfront Blues Festival where he will be debuting the new tracks. TJ will be performing with the LIAB records revue 7/1 on the Blues Stage at 2 PM, and again on 7/3 at noon with the TJ Wong Band. The album release comes on the heels of TJ’s highly successful International Blues Challenge appearance earlier this year.
TJ is making another run at Memphis TN in the CBA’s Journey To Memphis competition. This year, he has entered the solo/duo category with LIAB records session drummer Alec Donn. The duo has already made it through the semi finals of this years event. The final round of competition will be at the Waterfront Blues Festival 7/4. The TJ Wong duo’s set is scheduled for 11:30 am.
The new songs on “Kingdom Come” reflect TJ’s passion for blues while interjecting components of his combined pop and rock background, without losing any of the fiery guitar work that he has become known for. Backing TJ on the album is Chandler Bowerman on drums, Timmer Blakely on bass, Louis Pain on organ, and Brian Rose on keys, in addition to special appearances by Chad Rupp, Rae Gordon, and Alaina Fidanzo.
“Kingdom Come” will be available on all streaming services, at Music Millenium, and for order at the Lightning In A Bottle records store effective 7/1/23.
